Hey Tornado Nation and Tornado Fans~ this is David Rodgers Voice of the Tornadoes and my partner Big Kevin Howe bringing you an update on the aftermath as your Tornadoes improved to 3-1 with a resounding victory over the North Florida Educational Institute Eagles 44 to 0 in a Non-District Contest at David Hurse Stadium. The Tornadoes used a big running attack with our 3 Headed Monster of Running Backs as JR Big Andre “Thunder” Carter, SR Alvin “Lightning” James, and FR Dewayne “Debo” McBride ran thru major holes that our OLine opened up all night against the under-sized Eagles racking up another 300 yards rushing unofficially. Taro Ward playing both on offense and defense as the FB help create those big holes for the running backs to run through with some great blocks on the Eagle players. JR Dual Threat QB Zion Barber managed the offense to perfection and had several nice runs himself. The defense played an excellent game allowing the Eagles to unofficially 50 yards of total offense with an aggressive run and pass rush as the Tornadoes was in the Eagle backfield all night. They also forced 2 turnovers on a big hit from Dewayne McBride from his corner position as their QB ran an option play and he pitched it to the RB and Debo had a thunderous hit on the ball carrier knocking the ball loose and getting the ball back deep in Eagle Territory. FR DE Josh Griffis was in the Eagle Backfield All Night Long as with the rest of the defense. Special Teams played well in all phases to include the kickoffs as we kicked the ball deep into the end zone causing the Eagles to start most of their drives at their own 20 yard line. Soph. Jeremiah “My Main Man” Vaughan had some good punt and kickoff returns. Zion Barber hit 5 of 6 PATS and a 38 yard field goal as well. Great Game Plan by Coach Green and Coach Johns and the rest of the Coaching Staff! Next Friday Night… a Big Big District  Contest as the Santa Fe Raiders will stroll in to David Hurse Stadium.  The winner of this game will take over 1st Place in the District and have an inside track on winning it and hosting a First Round Playoff Game at home. The Raiders won the district last year and the Tornadoes were Runner Ups so the Tornadoes are wanting to return the favor and win the district outright. Listen for the Tornado Game Day Report this Friday @ 7:40 am and the Tornado Blog on The WEAG 106.3 Website this Sunday Night. Come out in full force next Friday Night and support your Tornadoes and if you can't you catch it live make sure to catch all the Live Play by Play and Color Commentary with me and Big Kevin Howe Pregame Show @715 and Kickoff @730 on the Eagle Country 106.3.
