Taming the Blue Wave

Hey Tornado Nation this is David Rodgers, Voice of the Tornadoes giving you an update on tonight's game. The Tornadoes had to travel to Gainesville, Florida to Booster Field to take on the P.K.Yonge Blue Wave in a big district game and the Tornadoes came out with a big win 51 to 14.Bradford used a big time running attack rushing the ball and amassing over 300 yards unofficially against and undersized and undermanned Blue Wave Team. Using our trio of RBs Big Aundre Carter, Alvin James, and Dewayne Debo McBride and with Junior QB Zion Barber the Tornadoes ran at will against their defense. Barber also threw a couple of nice passes down the field to our skilled wide receivers Chris Cummings and James Martin on long fly patterns setting up the Tornadoes in great field position to score Touchdowns. The O- Line did a heck of a job opening up big holes tonight making the lanes easier for the running backs to run through. The Defense played outstanding especially the D Line keeping the run game in check holding the Blue Wave RBs to little or no yards and sacking Mulhearn, their QB, several times for big losses. Running Back Dequan Blackshear, a Tornado from last year's team transferred to PK Yonge and was limited to 20 yards rushing. Mulhearn did throw 2 touchdown passes and had nice long passes that should have been caught by their Wide Outs and were simply just dropped. The only set back tonight and I addressed it as we were doing the broadcast was that the Special Teams for Bradford had 5 missed PATs and as the Tornadoes get more into the heart of the schedule and play harder competition we will need all these points just in case it is a close ballgame. This week in practice I am sure Coach Green and his staff will address this issue and get the team to have a great week of practice. Next Friday Night we return to the confines of David Hurse Stadium to face Non- District opponent North Florida Educational Institute. Please come out and support theTornadoes Live but if you can’t, please join us on the radio broadcast with the Best Producers in the State Mr. Chuck Kramer and Lyn Veliz and with me, David Rodgers and Big Kevin Howe with the Pregame Show @ 715 and Kickoff @ 730 on Eagle Country 106.3
