1ST ROADTRIP:TAYLOR COUNTY BULLDOGS

September 11, 2016
David Rodgers

Hey Tornado Fans This is David Rodgers Voice of the Tornadoes back with you for a Recap of the Football Game between your Tornadoes and the Taylor County Bulldogs. Both teams were 1-0 coming into this big non - district contest and Taylor County used a big passing attack to beat the Tornadoes 35 to 14 in the first road contest of the season for Bradford. The Bulldogs scored on 5 long pass plays as they took advantage of the Tornado Defense mixing their rushing game with the pass and keeping the defense on their heels all night and we did not put a lot of pass rush on their QB and let him have him time to throw the ball. However Tornado Fans all is not lost and the Tornadoes did some very good things during this game as we had some nice runs by Andre Carter, Alvin James and Dewayne McBride as our scores came on TD runs from Carter and James and Alvin especially that had a long run from scrimmage with a 75 yard burst. Carter grinded out yardage all night long as the work horse and QB Zion Barber had some nice runs getting out of the pass rush of the Bulldogs at times as well. The O Line did a good job creating holes for our running backs and are improving as a group. We need to throw the ball more to keep defenses honest and help open the run game up more. Zion Barber had 35 passing yards for the night. The Defense had flashes of brilliance as well with some great stops on their RB's holding them in check for most of the game and not giving up a bunch of rushing yards to the Bulldogs. So what does this all mean? The Tornadoes control their on destiny to win our district and to again make it to the state playoffs for a second straight year and it starts with a district road contest against winless PK Yonge next Friday Night. I believe Coach Green and his coaching staff will have a great game plan and our team will have a great week of practice and The Tornadoes will show why they were a state playoff team a year ago and play very well against the Blue Waves. We encourage all the Tornado Fans to make the road trip to GVille and support the team; but if you can’t make it you can tune in and catch all the Live Play by Play and Color Commentary with myself and Big Kevin Howe. As always we are supported by the best producers in the state with Chuck Kramer and Lyn Veliz with the Pregame Show @ 715 and Kickoff @730 on Eagle Country 106.3
